About the House of Building
House of Building has been born out of local building company, J Mizon & Sons, a 50 year old, respected and established company working in the local Surrey community. House of Building is the brainchild of its CEO, David Mizon who had the foresight to build on his already thriving family business, started by his Grandfather, Joseph, in 1961.
In creating House of Building, David's motivating influence was you, the customer, and your increasingly sophisticated requirements. His main aim was to meet the real need for a ONE STOP SHOP in what can be a confusing and complicated market. The showrooms offer a safe and familiar environment for our prospective and existing clients to visit.
House of Building aims to simplify the process of finding a trade by bringing together a group of reputable local businesses to operate under one ‘umbrella’, offering solutions to small maintenance issues right up to the complete planning, building and refurbishment of an extension. It is a simple concept; and a new and fresh take on the building market, which has already proved to be extremely successful.
The companies under the House of Building umbrella have contributed to the creation of the Church Street premises and share ongoing rental costs. This means no one company bears the burden of expensive town center rent meaning no high premiums are passed on to the customer. Whilst we highly recommend all of the companies associated with House of Building and the goods and services that they supply, we also source materials externally specified by the customer.
